Guardianship

We do not insist on students having a guardian; however, we strongly recommend it for all A Level students. The role of a guardian is to represent the parents by caring for the student independently of the college and doing the things that a parent would do if they were in the UK. For example, help with travel to and from college, checking that the student is happy and settled, talking to teachers and host families, supporting registration with health providers, banks, police and other official bodies, signing documentation on behalf of the parents, going to parents’ meetings, sports matches or plays: a guardian is there to be just like a caring parent.

Our partner guardianship agency is Dukes Guardians www.dukesguardians.com who offer a premier service to support and encourage students as necessary and provide parents with frequent written updates by talking to the student weekly and visiting them in the college at least every half-term and more often if necessary.
