The Lord Mayor of Liverpool visits LILA* Liverpool

The Right Worshipful, the Lord Mayor of Liverpool,Councillor Erica Kemp paid a visit to LILA* Liverpool today.

The Lord Mayor toured the LILA* facilities, classrooms and offices, meeting with LILA* students and staff who were able to ask her questions about her role and the city. Students also had the opportunity to take some pictures with the Lord Mayor complete with medallion and there was a personal address by the Lord Mayor to the students.

LILA* Director Leanne Linacre, said: “We are thrilled to welcome the Lord Mayor to our school and for our international students to meet such a prominent person. I'm sure they will never forget the experience, especially since they have been very excited since we confirmed the Mayoral visit to our students".

Before the Lord Mayor arrived Antonio Garcia, who is from Spain and is studying at LILA*, said: “I just can’t wait to meet the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, all my family from Spain have been very excited since I told them the Lord Mayor is visiting our school".

The mayor was able to tell us that she used to be a teacher and how her career changed and progressed to becoming the Lord Mayor. She loved the school and thanked the students for choosing Liverpool as their study destination to learn English.

She even found some time to take a quick selfie with students.

It was a great experience for everyone in the school and something we will all remember.
