Spring is on its' way and with that comes more exciting events and activities in Liverpool! As well as LILA*’s social programme offering weekly afternoon and evening activities, there are so many things to do in this brilliant city! See what LILA* recommends for this month…
If you’re a fan of movies, comics and video games, this event is for you! The MCM Liverpool Comic Con takes place on 12th-13th March (this weekend!) at the Exhibition Centre next to the Echo Arena. Day tickets start from £12.20, but get them quickly as the weekend tickets have already sold out. You can take part in eSports competitions, explore a Comic Village, enjoy colourful costumes and meet special guests from the worlds of TV and film; there are lots of celebrities attending this event.

St Patrick’s Day
17th March is St Patrick’s Day (or Paddy’s Day as it is known in Liverpool!) the celebration of the Irish patron Saint, St. Patrick. To celebrate there is always plenty happening in Liverpool, including a parade through the city which will pass through Mann Island (Liverpool docks) at 2.30pm on the day.
There will be lots of bars and venues offering special offers for Paddy’s Day, but if that doesn’t take your fancy there is also a Comedy Club in the Crown Hotel Pub or the much-anticipated Liverpool v Manchester United football game which will be shown around the city.
Independent Liverpool Spring Food and Drink Festival
Spend Easter weekend enjoying food from all the best independents of Liverpool. The festival takes place on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th March in the Liverpool Gin Garden in the Baltic Triangle. You can expect pop up bars and restaurants serving street food, an Easter egg hunt, local DJ’s and a live band, all to celebrate the reopening of the Gin Garden for the summer! Sports & Student Nights at Bierkeller
Bierkeller in Liverpool One have so many events on each week and each month! They show all national and international football, as well as rugby, boxing, and lots of other sports. There is a weekly schedule in the LILA* Common Room showing all football matches. Bierkeller also have different offers and events on each night such as Comedy Lounge, FIFA tournament, Open Mic Night and Rock & Roll Bingo. As a LILA* student, you can get 25% off food and drink with your own Privilege Card. Sign up for one of LILA*’s events at Bierkeller or ask at Reception to receive your card!
Remember, LILA* only closes for UK Bank Holidays and any classes missed during these days will be replaced in the same week.
