What to expect from a LILA* trip

Here at LILA* we spend a lot of time listening to student feedback and creating new trips that suit our students’ needs. We offer a variety of trips to suit all budgets and needs and have a great programme to offer long and short term students.

Our students have told us that when they go on trips they want to learn about the British culture, meet new friends and practice English, as well as experience beautiful parts of the UK. As social programme planners, we also wanted our trips to be guided in a way that’s fun and interactive. A lot of our guided tours involve learning new vocabulary and taking part in a task or quiz. We want a social programme that enhances learning while travelling and having fun.  We often use flashcards and visual aids so that all levels of English can benefit from the guided tour. We also offer an optional learner worksheet on which students can complete cultural and language homework based on the place they are visiting. Students are also provided with a full itinerary of meeting times, what’s included in the trip and what to bring/wear on the day.

Throughout the year we offer one trip a week on a Saturday. During the summer we offer two trips every weekend (one on Saturday and one on Sunday) to cater for the busier period. This summer we are introducing new loyalty cards which mean that if you are a regular ‘Daytripper’ you can get a free trip during this time! We have a maximum number on our coach trips during the summer so students need to sign up on our online system to make sure they get a place! Our summer trip calendar now includes a choice of 14 different trips from historical cities like York and Chester to active adventures like climbing centres and countryside walking tours. We also offer trips to attractions such as football stadium tours and theme parks. Our prices range from £12 - £55 with an average of £24. Finally, we also offer group weekends away to Scotland or London when students or groups book in advance.
