Social Programme

We provide a fantastic social programme at LILA* and we would encourage you to involve yourself as much as possible to experience life in England and see the many attractions that we offer. To find out what is going on then head over to the Students’ Common Room where you’ll find the social activities blackboard. Don’t forget to sign up for the activities! If you are an existing student at LILA* you can login to LILA* Online to view our current Social Calendar. Students can now book attractions online! We have a large number of attractions and events available for which you can buy tickets online. All payments are securely processed and give you instant access to your tickets.

Making the most of your time in Liverpool
Visiting a new country can be the experience of a lifetime and we want to make sure that you enjoy it as much as possible. Of course, you are not just here to have fun but to also improve your English skills! To do this we would advise you to speak English as much as much as you can while you are here, even if you and your friends speak the same language. Take the time to chat to the members of LILA* staff and your hosts if you are staying with a native family. It also important that you attend as many of your classes as possible and for you to arrive on time.

English Club
Want to practice your English outside the classroom? Join your fellow students and teachers once a week and learn in a relaxed atmosphere. English Club also runs sessions on practical issues like applying to university and how to find a job.

Have a question about one of our excursions?
Maybe you want to request an activity for you and your friends? You can find Hannah in the Academic Office when she’s not in the classroom. Here’s an example of a typical week of social programme activities.

Monday

Discover Liverpool! We will point you in the right direction with our Orientation Tour. Learn about some of Liverpool’s most famous buildings! Meet Tony 1.30pm outside reception. Every Monday.

Tuesday

The Albert Dock Tour. Why not take the opportunity to take in the delights of the Dockside? Experience the many friendly bars, restaurants, shops, boats and tours - the most popular free tourist attraction in the Northwest!

Wednesday

Practice your English with language games at English Club. A place where you can have fun and improve your English at the same time! Language games in room 2 with Naomi and Justyna. 3pm – 4.30pm.

Thursday

Catholic Cathedral Tour. Marvel at the majestic beauty and spiritual atmosphere of this remarkable building. In the evening join us for an enjoyable night out at The Cavern Club - the most famous club in the world!

Friday

Big Night Out in Liverpool! Come along and experience Liverpool’s legendary nightlife. There is something for everyone - definitely not to be missed! Meet Ian at 9pm at Liverpool Central Station.

Saturday

Explore the region with an exciting day trip to York. Be entertained in one of Europe’s most inspiring and historic cities. Please see Hannah ASAP if you would like to go! Meet at LILA* at 9am.

How much do LILA's social activities cost?

The majority of LILA*’s social activities are free. But those that cost money range from approximately £3 - £20.
