Q

Who do I speak to if I have a problem?

If you have any problems or concerns in general while you are staying in England then you can speak to your Personal Tutor. Your Personal Tutor is always there to help you; from finding the right bus to helping you with your CV.

You will be told who your personal tutor is on your first day at your welcome talk. We understand that coming to study English in the UK is about more than just the language tuition. Sometimes our students find they have difficulty adjusting to the British culture and sometimes, they just feel a little homesick. Because of this, we make sure that you receive out-of-class care by providing a social welfare officer. Hannah, who is there to help with all those little issues of a more personal nature.

Q

How do I find LILA*?

Liverpool is a great city to get around by public transport and it really couldn't be easier to get to the school. You can find us next to the Hard Days Night Hotel on North John Street and Matthew Street. We’re also across the road from the Liverpool ONE shopping centre and Boodles, the jewellery shop is on the same crossroads.

Look for the building with the green front which says “New Barratt House”. You’ll be greeted by the concierge in the foyer and you need to go up the stairs (or take the lift!) to the first floor. You can expect it to take around 5 minutes to walk from Central Station, Moorfields Station, Paradise Street and Queens Square. To walk from Liverpool Lime Street station will take around 10 minutes. For a map please visit our Location page.

Q

What time will my lessons be?

Lessons start at 9am, 12.30pm and 2.15pm. It is important that you arrive to school on time as the most important part of the lesson is often at the very beginning. Exact lesson times will be on your timetable.
